Recruits should be taking their official Island (campus) visits, plus home visits by the coaches. Does anyone know of any recruits that have visited; or who we are looking at?
I'm guessing we are looking for post players, and maybe a point guard?

If I had it to do over, think I would have listed only one Anniversary Team with 10 players. Some players, like Jackie Ododa, were awful hard to leave off the first team.
What, no current players on the Team? Hey, this season isn't over, heck it hasn't even started. Have a good year, make a run at the Conference championship, then who knows!!

This is just my opinion but I don't like the Southland logo we have on the court at the American Bank Center. Nothing wrong with the sunburst logo; looks great at the UTSA gym where the colors match. The colors just clash with the Islander blue and green.
I would suggest just using the name Southland, or The Southland, in say a neutral color or at least one that matches. Seems like I saw that at one of the Conference schools and it looked fine.
And no I don't have an art background, just to much time on my hands. lol

This looks to be a pretty rough schedule; most of it on the road. Lots of post-season teams from last year; and some good tournaments. Should get us ready for the Southland tournament.
I wonder why we don't play Texas- El Paso this year; we went to their place last year. Also I didn't see any exhibition games listed. Hard to believe we would take on a top 20 team (Vanderbilt) without at least one practice game first.

The Islanders are celebrating their 10th Anniversary this year. Here are my picks for the Anniversary Team:
1st Team-- Terra Andrews, Kristin Rogers, Kibra Lewis, Nicol Duncan, Jean Clark
2nd Team- Shakla Hawkins, Detra Johnson, Roberta Plaza, Jackie Ododa, Jessie Monlux
